Chicken Heart Studios is an independent game and art studio based in Portugal. For the processing described in this policy, Chicken Heart Studios is the data controller unless a third-party service states that it acts as a separate controller.

Information collected by our games

Game advertising

Our games may include a third-party advertising service. Depending on your device, region, consent choices, and the advertising service used, that service may automatically process:

• your device’s advertising identifier, such as an Android advertising ID or Apple IDFA;
• IP address and approximate country or region derived from it;
• device model, operating system, language, app version, and network information;
• ad impressions, clicks, viewing events, and interactions with an advertised offer; and
• diagnostic, security, and fraud-prevention signals.

The precise information depends on the advertising provider and the controls available on your device. Unless a game tells you otherwise at the point of collection, we do not ask you to create a Chicken Heart Studios account or provide your name, postal address, or email address through gameplay.

This website and email

This website does not use a contact form, marketing analytics, or advertising cookies. It is delivered through Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process limited technical information—such as IP address, request and routing data, browser or device information, and security signals—to deliver and protect the site. We do not maintain our own copy of website access logs. This processing supports our legitimate interest in operating a secure, reliable website. If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any information you choose to include so that we can respond. Depending on the enquiry, we process this information to take steps at your request or for our legitimate interest in handling correspondence.

Advertising

Advertising helps support our games. Depending on your location and choices, ads may be contextual or personalized. Advertising providers may use the information described above to select and deliver ads, limit how often an ad is shown, measure ad performance, produce aggregated reports, and detect invalid traffic or fraud.

Where applicable law requires consent, consent is the legal basis for accessing an advertising identifier or delivering personalized advertising. A consent interface supplied by the advertising service may be shown in the game. You can change or withdraw a choice through any privacy control provided in the game and through your device’s advertising settings. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal.

An advertising provider may process information as an independent controller under its own privacy notice. Its identity and privacy controls may be shown in the game, its consent interface, or the relevant app-store listing. We may receive aggregated advertising reports, but we do not receive your name or email address from the ad service.

How information is used

Information may be processed to:

• operate, maintain, and secure our games and website;
• display, measure, and improve advertising;
• apply your privacy and advertising choices;
• detect technical errors, abuse, invalid traffic, or fraud;
• respond to messages and privacy requests; and
• meet legal, regulatory, or app-platform requirements.

Depending on the context, the legal basis is your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and securing our services and supporting them with contextual advertising, or compliance with a legal obligation. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

Who information may be shared with

Information may be processed by advertising providers, app stores and platform operators, hosting and infrastructure providers such as Cloudflare, professional advisers where necessary, and public authorities when disclosure is legally required. We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising-related disclosure may be treated as “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or a similar term under some privacy laws, and the controls described below remain available.

Your choices and rights

You can limit advertising-related processing by:

• using any privacy or consent control provided inside the game;
• turning off ad personalization in your device settings;
• resetting or deleting your device’s advertising identifier, where supported; or
• restricting the game’s permissions through your device settings.

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data; restrict or object to its processing; withdraw consent; and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. These rights are not absolute and may depend on the processing involved.

In Portugal, you may also complain to the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).

Children’s privacy

We do not knowingly ask children to provide personal information directly through our games or this website. Where a game is directed to children, or we know a player is a child, we seek to apply age-appropriate advertising settings and any parental consent or other safeguards required by applicable law.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Data security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the limited information we handle. No transmission or storage method is completely secure.

We retain direct email correspondence only for as long as needed to answer the request, maintain necessary records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Advertising, platform, and hosting providers set their own retention periods under their privacy notices. We do not control or keep a separate copy of data held only by those providers.

International transfers

Advertising, platform, and hosting providers may process information outside Portugal or the European Economic Area. Where EU data-transfer rules apply, a provider may rely on a European Commission adequacy decision, approved standard contractual clauses, or another lawful safeguard described in its privacy notice.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our games, advertising partners, or legal obligations change. The current version will remain available at this URL, and the “Last updated” date will show when it was revised. If a change materially affects how information is used, we will provide additional notice where required.
